Chapter 1
“Van, you crazy cocksucker! How have you been?”
Despite wincing from my good friend’s use of profanity in front of my family, I had to smile. Cap and I had been through a lot in the Navy together, and it’d been years since I last saw him.
“Hey, Cap,” I said. “Good to see you again.” I stuck out my hand.
He grabbed it and pulled me in for a hug, slapping my back with his other hand.
“Been too long, buddy,” he replied. “Too fucking long.”
I cleared my throat and stepped back, still smiling. “Cap, I’d like you to meet my family.” I turned. “This is Laurie, my fiancée. Laurie, this is Tony Clearfield.”
Laurie stepped forward and offered her hand, and Cap shook it warmly. “Nice to meet you, Ma’am. Glad to know my buddy here hasn’t given up on women.”
“Nice to meet you, Tony,” Laurie said, giving him a smile.
“And this is Melissa,” I said. “Laurie’s daughter.
Melissa stepped forward and shyly offered her hand. “Hello,” she said softly.
“Glad to meet you,” Tony replied. “You’re as pretty as your mom.”
The seven-year-old blushed and stepped back.
“And this is Colby,” I said, scooping the four-year-old up into my arms. “My son.”
“Damn,” Cap said, taking Colby’s small hand in his. “You have your mother’s eyes. Mighty fine woman she was. Damn shame about all of that.”
I turned again. “And last but not least, this is Stephanie. She’s our babysitter who’s graciously offered to join us on our vacation so that Laurie and I can head off on our own once in a while.”
Stephanie stepped forward and held out her hand. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Clearfield.”
Cap took her hand and held it. “My, my, my, aren’t you a pretty little thing? How old are you?”
“Eighteen,” she replied.
He gave her a smile, and I put my arm around her shoulder. “Okay, that’s enough of that.” “You,” I said, pointing to Cap, “keep your eyes on the ladies your own age.” “And you,” I said, turning to Stephanie, “stay away from him.”
They both laughed, but I wasn’t entirely joking. Cap was an experienced pussy hound, and he was looking at my young babysitter like a hungry wolf eyeing up a lamb. I was sure that the almost three-decade difference in their ages wouldn’t matter to him at all.
“This,” Cap said to my family as he put his arm around my shoulder, “is one of the finest pilots I’ve ever met. And believe me, I’ve met a lot of them. He’s also a stand-up guy, and I’d be willing to go to battle with him anytime. Hell, he pulled my ass out of the fire plenty of times. I wouldn’t be standing here if it wasn’t for Major Donovan J. Bradshaw, and you can take that to the bank.”
I smiled and hugged him back. “And Captain Anthony R. Clearfield taught me everything he knew.” I turned to my family. “And in case you were wondering, a captain outranks a major, and I still consider him my boss.”
We both laughed.
“Your plane is fueled and ready to go,” Cap said. “The flight plan is already laid out, the skies are clear, and it should be a short trip out to Haranu.”
“I really appreciate this,” I said. “You sure I can’t pay you anything?”
He waved his hand. “Don’t even think about it. It’s always been my dream to run a charter service like this, and I wouldn’t be alive to do it if it wasn’t for you. It’s the least I can do.”
“Thanks again, then. It really is great to see you.”
“You too, buddy. You too.”
Chapter 2
The island was like an emerald jewel in a sea of deep blue, its sandy beaches giving it the illusion of being encircled with gold. I banked the plane and let up on the throttle, dropping towards the calm Pacific.
The Cessna 185 six-seater handled tightly, despite being over thirty years old. I had flown everything, from my father’s crop-duster while growing up on the farm, to the F18 Hornet during my ten-year stint in the Navy, to commercial aircraft, which was my current job.
But not for the next fourteen days. That was set aside for my family’s vacation – two fabulous weeks at a remote resort on the small island of Haranu in the South Pacific.
The Cessna was equipped as a floatplane, meaning it had two long floating pontoons instead of landing gear. Which was good because the island was too small to hold a landing strip.
With the ocean as calm as it was today, landing on water was actually easier than on land, and I positioned the plane for final approach, lining up my trajectory so that I’d end up near the island’s main dock.
The ocean came up to meet us, and we bounced once before the runners skimmed across the water, sending up twin sprays behind us. I cut the throttle and let the water slow us down, gliding through the ocean towards the wooden pier. I made minor adjustments left and right, giving it just enough throttle to ease to a stop beside the dock.
Cutting the engine, I jumped out and moored the plane, looping the landing ropes over the wooden pile. We were unloading the luggage onto the dock when a short, dark-haired man with golden skin came down the steps with a big smile on his face.
“Mr. Bradshaw?” he asked in a thick Polynesian accent.
I offered him my hand. “Mr. Amura?”
He nodded. “Please, call me Temana.” He looked at my family. “Glad to see you made it.”
“Call me Donovan,” I said, releasing his hand. “Beautiful day for flying.”
He nodded again. “Every day is beautiful here. When you’re ready, I’ll show you to your lodging.” He turned to Laurie. “Nice to meet you, Mrs. Bradshaw.”
She smiled and said, “Nice to meet you too, Temana. But the wedding isn’t until another three months. Please call me Laurie.”
“Very well, Laurie.” He then turned his attention to Stephanie. “Are you the daughter?”
She grinned and said, “No, I’m the babysitter.”
He gave her a curious glance and leaned slightly sideways to look into the plane. “You brought a baby with you?”
Stephanie giggled. “No, babysitter means I’m here to watch the kids.” She pointed to Melissa and Colby.
“I’m not a baby,” Melissa said, frowning.
Temana smiled. “Oh, I get it. Babysitter.”
“Okay,” I said, “everyone grab something and let’s
get moving.”
We all picked up several items of luggage, and even Temana grabbed one. I protested, but he waved me off, heading up the steps.
The resort was made up of twenty or so bungalows spread around through the palm trees and tropical foliage. Each had stairs leading down to the beach, and some were larger, able to hold multiple families, while others were tiny, probably intended for couples.
Ours was one of the medium ones, with four bedrooms and a large living area, plus a kitchen and two baths. Inside, the decor was rustic bare wood, and it looked just like the photos in the brochure. It was two-stories, with a staircase leading up from the living room to an open semi-circular banistered walkway where the doors to the four bedrooms were.
It was expensive, but Laurie and I had decided we’d feel less guilty when we went on our honeymoon to Hawaii, if we took our kids somewhere nice first.
I tried to tip Temana for his assistance, but he had none of it, insisting all gratuities were included in the price. Before he left, he asked if I’d move the plane to the far end of the dock sometime today because he was expecting more vacationers to arrive tomorrow on the shuttle.
Chapter 3
After we got everything unpacked and put away, the kids wanted to take a walk down to the beach. So we all climbed down the narrow steps and walked out of the shade onto the sunny white beach. It was spectacular. Not a cloud in the sky and the ocean was a shade of blue usually reserved for postcards.
The kids wanted to go swimming, but Laurie told them it was too close to lunchtime. But they insisted they weren’t hungry, since we’d had a big meal before leaving Tahiti this morning. I reminded Laurie that we were in a different time zone, and it was actually only eight-thirty back at our home in California.
So she relented, and sent Stephanie back up to the bungalow with them to change into their suits. While we waited for them to return, we walked along the shore, holding hands as we looked for shells.
“Something about this place makes me horny as hell,” she said.
I chuckled. “Same here.”
“And that plane ride? The vibrations were driving me crazy.”
I laughed again. “Yeah, I’ll have to let Cap know that the engine is missing slightly.”
“I’m not complaining,” Laurie said, “but you’re going to have to fuck me tonight.”
“I’m not sure those bungalow walls are thick enough.”
She stared at me. “You don’t really think I’m going two weeks without your big cock, do you?”
I grinned. “Just like I can’t go that long without your tight pussy.”
She smiled. “Good. Just so we’re clear on that.”
“I’m looking forward to Hawaii, where we can make all the noise we want.”
“Mmm, sounds fun. And I’ll finally be Mrs. Bradshaw.”
The kids burst out of the shade with Stephanie walking behind them. She was wearing a bright red bikini, and I did my best not to stare.
Three years ago, my wife Annie was on her way to the pediatrician for our son’s one-year checkup, when a drunk driver crossed the middle line and slammed head-on into our SUV. Annie was killed instantly, and Colby, who was in the back in his car seat, survived without a scratch. I was on duty in the Middle East when it happened, and flew home immediately. I was devastated from the loss of my wife, and because of my grief, I was fairly useless for a while. Under the circumstances, I asked for and received a discharge from the Navy. But I was an emotional wreck and could barely function, unable to take care of myself let alone my son. Luckily, my sister Maggie stepped in, managing my household until I could get back on my emotional feet.
Annie and I had hired Stephanie as our babysitter several times. Despite her young age of fourteen, she’d come highly recommended. She had great grades in school, and she’d already been taking care of her two younger brothers for several years. And she hadn’t disappointed, gaining mine and Annie’s trust with her mature demeanor as she cared for our son.
One of the first things Maggie did was bring Stephanie back, since she already had a connection with Colby. The teenager proved to be a great help, assisting in raising my son while I grieved for my wife.
The blackness that had descended over my world eventually lifted, and I slowly put my life back together. Nine months after Annie’s death I accepted a job flying for a commercial airline, and while I was away from my son more than I wanted, things began to return to normal.
When she first started with Annie and me, Stephanie was a gangly teenager with braces and a thin, boyish body. In the four years since, she’d slowly metamorphosed from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. Now eighteen, she was stunningly gorgeous, with a pretty face, long brown hair, and a dynamite body. When she came over to swim in our backyard pool, I had to constantly remind myself she was a child in comparison to my ancient thirty-two years.
“Is that bikini new?” Laurie asked, when Stephanie reached us.
Stephanie looked down at her suit. “Yeah, I picked it up just for this trip. It’s not too much, is it?”
“You look beautiful in it,” Laurie said. “May as well show off your body while you’re young. Because after you have kids, you end up looking like this.” She pointed at her own body.
Stephanie shook her head. “Mrs. Swann, I think you look amazing. I hope my body looks that good when I’m thirty.”
“I keep telling her that,” I said, “but she doesn’t believe me.”
“Did you get a chance to talk to Tyler when we stopped in Tahiti?” Laurie asked.
“Yeah, we texted a little bit. He said he was going to miss not talking to me for two weeks.”
Tyler was Stephanie’s boyfriend, and they’d been dating for over a year. Seeing them together and the way they touched, made it obvious they were intimate. Lucky bastard. I was certain that talking to her wasn’t the only thing he’d be missing.
The kids ran up to us, excited about a small pink conch shell they’d found, and we all went down to the water’s edge, looking for more.
Chapter 4
That evening, we went on a sunset boat tour that took us around the Tikehau Atoll, which our island was a part of. The setting sun was beautiful, with the sky turning all shades of pink and purple before fading to gray as the sun slipped over the horizon. We even saw a shooting star on our way back to the resort.
The kids were exhausted by the time we returned to the bungalow, and went right to bed. Stephanie stayed up for a bit as we watched a Blu-ray movie on the widescreen television, but went to bed before it was over.
After she disappeared behind her bedroom door upstairs, Laurie placed her hand on the crotch of my shorts, rubbing my cock through the material. I stiffened immediately, grinning as I caressed her breast through her blouse and bra. I leaned down and kissed her, and she responded by sliding her hand under the elastic waistband of my shorts, gripping my stiff dick in her warm hand.
I’d met Laurie Swann a year and a half ago, when she’d worked as a flight attendant on the airline I flew for. She’d lost her husband to cancer three years previous, and although we were attracted to each other instantly, it was still too soon after Annie’s death for me to be involved with anyone else. But we became friends, and on a layover six months later, I finally accepted her invitation to come up to her hotel room.
We’d been together ever since, with her and Melissa moving in with Colby and me three months later. I made it official five months ago, proposing to her on a romantic moonlight river cruise. She happily accepted, and had been busy with the wedding plans ever since.
As Laurie continued to massage my cock through my pants, I pulled back slightly and looked up at the four bedroom doors. “Someone could come out,” I said.
“I know. We’ll go up in a minute.” She stroked my hardness slowly and kissed me passionately, her tongue exploring my mouth.
